As we turned the Wheel of the Year, we gave deep gratitude for all the blessings in our life. We share our experience below of moving with the seasons of life.

Do you know about Mabon?
As the lower temperatures creep in and we start to mourn the passing of summer, it is common for one to bemoan how quickly that went, as we begrudgingly pull out our coats. However, it is at this time that we must also practice gratitude for the blessings of the past season and look forward to what the coming season will bring. While each season may bring its challenges and opportunities for growth, we all have the power to overcome, surmount and transcend.
This was the deep understanding that I left with at the conclusion of the Mabon ceremony at the Modern Mystery School UK & EU HQ.
Across many cultures, the time of the autumn equinox has been marked with festivals that celebrate the second harvest, a crucial period for gathering resources before the onset of winter. Mabon brings together these ancient traditions and celebrates the autumn equinox where there is an equilibrium between day and night. It is a time of balance, a season to take stock and to be grateful for what we have received, overcome and achieved. It is a time for reflection and a time to gather in celebration, unity and gratitude. On this beautiful day of togetherness, the Modern Mystery School UK & EU hosted a joyous Mabon ceremony to not only mark the turning of the wheel but also to anchor into our new centre, the purpose and flow of being in service to the light. It was definitely very special to be a part of that.
With a sumptuous altar that is a feast for the senses and the soul, each of us was able to connect with ourselves and collectively with the traditions of Modern Mystery School, that of the lineage of King Salomon. While each of us is an individual flame with a spark of the divine, when we come together as one, we create the ripple effect of light which pours out from our hearts into the collective, nourishing our souls and the communities that each of us come from and create.
Mabon is a season to remind us to take stock of the blessings that we have received and to remind us of our ability to create, align and share. It is a time to celebrate unity, to remember that we have much more in common than what divides us, and that we are stronger together. As we partook in the ceremony, I felt a strong sense of connection to my purpose and it served as a testament to how each of our strengths can be amplified and how we can each support each other in challenging times. It is also a powerful reminder of why it is important to come together as a community to nourish one and another, as well as the amplification of good that we can co-create when we gather as one.
Through, ceremony, meditation and an abundance of magick, there was a palpable sense of peace and joy which radiated outwards and beyond which profoundly provided encouragement that what each of us does, however small or insignificant it might seem to us, really does matter. It was rejuvenating and quietly affirming!
I know that as the days grow shorter and the nights longer, the magick and warmth of this gathering will sustain me until the lighter days come again. It is also a symbol of the flow and rhythm of Mother Earth – that all things have their seasons. In impermanence, there is surrender, in surrender there is faith and in faith there is trust and in that trust, the power of the self emerges. I am enough.
With these deep realisations and reflection, I am looking forward to the next turning of the Wheel.
