| What has been the most challenging part of the Warriors of Light program for you?
I think for me, when you’re in any program within the Modern Mystery School, you’re doing everything in the Light, which is different to other programs that you might do outside of that, because what that means and what that does is, it shows you all of your cracks, all of the things within you where you perhaps weren’t aware of, which is what causes the opportunity for growth.
When you see those things, you can move past them, but they’re not necessarily comfortable while you see them.
Warriors of Light is really physical, and it’s so interesting to see where your mind can say, or does say, I can’t do that, that’s enough, I can’t push anymore, I haven’t got any more energy, I’m not strong enough, or that’s not for me.
Definitely for me, when it comes to doing some of the harder things that I don’t have to do, but I can probably do – I can see in my mind where I’ve talked myself out of doing it, believing that perhaps that I can’t do it.
It’s the battle of the mind, where it’s not really even about the physical body, it’s about the mind and overcoming that.
It has been amazing in this Warriors of Light, because I can see places where I’ve wanted to pull back, and actually when I’ve stuck at it, I have mastered it, and I could do it, you know, and I could do it actually easier than I thought.
It’s interesting how the mind plays games, and it shows you that.
How did you grow from that challenge and resistance?
I think getting still and contemplating, asking myself good questions, meditating, using points of reference around me, like ‘Is it true?’.
One of the most important things in our lives, is discernment, you know, which part of me is speaking, which voice within me is speaking?
Is it my ego that is resistant to my growth, or is it actually me and my Higher Self speaking to me?
Sometimes we do need to rest, we do need to pull back and know when to stop, and sometimes we need to forge forward, because fear will always step in.
So, learning how to discern and seeing things from a different point of view has really helped me in this Warriors of Light.
I was perhaps looking at something from one angle, but it was only 50% of the story. So if I took a different perspective and looked at it from the other 50%, it gave a different angle, which meant that I could then make a different decision.
Was there a moment when something really clicked for you?
For me specifically, yes. Doing the additional training of the Warrior Clan training, I decided that I was not going to carry on and do it.
I spoke to my Sensei, and he invited me to consider and discern where I was making that decision from, and invited me to take some more time before I made the decision.
So I did, and then I went ahead and did the training, which was way easier than I thought it would be.
So it shows me where I do that in life, where I tell myself I can’t do something, and actually I really can.
I think it’s really important that we think about that in all areas of our life, like where do I hold back, where do I tell myself I can’t do something, where am I only acting at 50% when I really have got 100, you know.
It’s a great metaphor for me for not only this program, but for my whole life.
