The Meditation Challenge
I often hear the phrase “Life got in the way of….” – In other words, that somehow things got out of our control and we ended up not doing the things we had wanted to do. But often, is this really the case? Or, is it that we have become distracted by the events going on around us, the people around us, or society at large, such that our minds have become too cluttered to really ask ourselves what we really want to do?
Are we racing through life without giving ourselves the space to check in with ourselves?
In the hustle and bustle of modern day living, there is always something going on – the kids, the job, the keeping up with the to-do list. Unless we make a conscious effort to make time to check in with ourselves, there will never be time.
As the year draws to a close, it is the perfect time to take stock of the year, to take a breather, to truly give ourselves the space to get to know ourselves – Not through the lens of a jam packed schedule but through the cultivation of a quiet mind.
A regular meditation practice is one that will allow us to truly understand ourselves from within and like anything else, it comes with practice. A common misconception of meditation is that one must have no thoughts. Please do not be put off my this misconception. The goal of meditation is not to have no thoughts, but rather, to develop the skill to not engage with thoughts as they arise. It is a practice of surrender, to stop the mind loops and the spiralling thoughts to connect with the inner sanctuary – the practice to create space.
The first step is to relax so even if you do fall asleep, that is fine too! Relax, surrender, repeat – It works!
It’s been in a state of meditation that I have received the best ideas, felt profound gratitude and experienced genuine connection. The beauty and magick of it all is that all this came from within me – not outside of me.

This is for beginners or seasoned meditators: you don’t need any experience – we’ll guide you through how to relax deeply and show you the ropes to meditate with ease! Happening tonight: Awaken Thyself!
This 2-hour workshop offers you a flavour of what the Modern Mystery School has to offer, particularly its path of Progression.
You will observe how the setting up of the temple space is finalized, learn what the Empower Thyself Class & Initiation is, and how you can become an Adept Initiate and what the many benefits are.
You will experience rituals, and receive some to take home and use in your daily life!
The importance of meditation and its different levels will be discussed, and you will experience the Sanctuary Meditation: a journey to your sanctuary to meet your Higher Self and receive some answers.
