Why We Fight the Dark to Bring the Light

If you’re anything like me, you don’t just accept life at the surface. You want to know it all—the beauty that makes it good and the shadows that make it hard. You want the truth, even when it’s uncomfortable, even when it’s about the darker and more hidden parts of the world.
At the Modern Mystery School, we always begin with the Light. That’s our foundation. We receive a Life Activation and step into the Empower Thyself class so that the Light we carry grows stronger. This is the baseline of our healing—to fill our own cup with Light first, because no one can pour from an empty cup.
As the path deepens—especially as a Ritual Master—it becomes essential to face and understand negativity. We learn to see the dark, not to fear it, but to sharpen our discernment, to know what truly serves us and what holds us back. This is the work of mastering thyself and choosing, again and again, to walk in pure Light.
One of the best ways to have more Light in our lives is through Joy, which is why in anything we do, in any class and also whilst we push our limits at Warriors of Light, we also have fun.

Personally, I have healed, and still am healing, an immense amount since walking the path of the Healer in the Modern Mystery School. Even though I just wanted to rush towards diving deep into all the Warriors topics, I could’ve never done it without bringing more Light to my internal world and seeing everything more clearly from there. Getting to choose the light parts of myself over that which resists the light has been one of the biggest growth points of my life, and today, as a Ritual Master, I have a growing awareness and discernment in the world around me from being able to differentiate Light from dark.
This particular line in the featured video reminds me alot of my own life: “Everybody does change. They become more of the thing they feed.” This really touched me because it mirrored my own journey. I’ve lived both sides of it. When I fed fear or anger, even unconsciously, those parts of me grew stronger and began shaping my choices. But when I chose to feed the Light, through daily practices, consistency, and conscious love, I saw my life bear different fruits. We are always feeding something within ourselves, for better, or for worse.
“When you understand how rough the world is and that it goes far beyond the mind of a human, it goes far beyond the ego of a human, the complexities of the world, then you can understand that all of us, every human being in the world is suffering and struggling and missing pieces. It’s that ignorance that causes so much pain and so much evil in the world and causes these influences, decisions to be made that only inflict more pain on other people. So we have to to learn to embrace that and confront it and overtake it. That’s truly what the the ritual master does is confronts that evil and makes a commitment to do that which along with their initiation the commitment to do that is a great deal of where their power resides.”
