We come to you today with the long-awaited report of our 3rd Annual Charity Run! Together with Team Light across the world, we ran, walked, jogged, and trotted 8 kilometres for our charity partner, Random Acts of Kindness.
The final count is in and we can’t wait to report how much we fundraised for them!

The Best One Yet: 3rd Annual Charity Run
This year for the third year running (no pun intended), Ritual Masters and Life Activation Practitioners alike joined our forces in the Light for a small, grassroots charity operated by two local women in Uttoxeter, UK. This charity is aptly named Random Acts of Kindness, and it provides just that: acts of kindness for the less fortunate in Uttoxeter and the surrounding areas.
I must say our third annual Charity Run was a wild success for many reasons!
We had the best turnout yet of dedicated members of our community running for a cause.
The sun was shining in Hyde Park during our run.
The young participants supported the older ones. The older ones supported the young.
The birds were chirping along with us in the Spring air, cheering us along the whole distance!
In the Modern Mystery School, a run like this isn’t about the run. It is about pushing ourselves to our individual limits, whatever those may be. For some, pushing our individual limits meant walking 8km. For some, it meant training in the lead-up. For others, it meant asking our communities to donate on our behalf to Random Acts of Kindness.
In the process, we broke a sweat, had a whole lot of fun, and tripled our charitable goal of £3,000.
Together we raised £9,001 for Random Acts of Kindness!
Our eventual goal in the Modern Mystery School is to create world peace, also known as Shamballah. But this Shamballah we speak of starts within our own community.
And dare I say that the 3rd Annual Charity Run looked a lot like Shamballah in action?
Dedicated and yet wholly unique people, all coming together, putting aside our differences (when they get in the way) and yet embracing them where they serve. Taking action in LOVE, to support a cause that has nothing to do with us.
Pure Light and Magick in action.
If I had to ascribe one word to this day, it would be ‘Unity‘.
True Unity is a blessing to see and to experience. It moved me beyond what my words can describe.
I warmly welcome everyone who has not participated before in the Annual Charity Run to join us next year, as we set the example for the world of Shamballah, and true Unity in action.

Truly International: A Personal Account of The Global Charity Run
A surprising transformation happens during our yearly Charity Run, and this being my second year joining, I could really feel the expansion of Light shared and our impact as a global community growing year by year!!
Last year I ran in London, and this year had the honour of running with our team in Canada, which was the founding team and where the idea of the Charity Run all began! (P.S. I missed the team in London, too, and wished I could’ve cloned myself!) I’m so grateful for the new run experience in Toronto, too, and the growth that came from it. Witnessing our Team mingling into a run of 3,750 participants, cheering everyone on and wearing our bright Team Light shirts really set an energy and platform to bring more hope to more people. We lightworkers are on a journey to Know Thyself—to grow, to progress, and to help others in the process- our yearly Charity Run is such a beautiful opportunity to live this process!
Running in Canada this year made me realise even more how strong our global community is, and how much Light we share when we come together for a common cause.
Led by Ipsissima Franca Lanyon and her co-captain Christina Beccera, I had the chance to witness the very place where the idea of a worldwide Charity Run began and to hear the founding stories. It was incredibly inspiring to see what an idea, once sparked in a kitchen and then taken action upon can create and blossom into. Our charity contributions grow every year and the effect these runs are having is starting to ripple out into the world! I realised so clearly that there is no denying what we can accomplish when we put our minds—and our hearts—into it, especially together.
I could genuinely feel the Light being shared, even with the people on other teams that were running, not to mention the impact we’re able to have through donations to our charitable partners. Team Light in Toronto raised over $22,000 for the Parkdale Community Food Bank—with more to come through Modern Mystery School special projects supporting Haven Toronto, a men’s outreach centre. Our team was the top fundraiser out of all participants in the Spring Run-Off and as the leading team, our captain Ipsissima Franca Lanyon was invited to speak to the entire group of 3750 runners! Right after the race, she shared her inspiring words with some people by the finish line in the event host’s tent– who later, moved by her message, carried that energy onto the big stage and introduced our team with the energy and words coming from Ispssima Franca. When it came time for the award presentation, he invited the whole team up for a group photo, honouring Team Light. A truly beautiful experience and fruit of our actions to witness.
The Toronto team bravely overcame the shivery rain that spring brought along, and ran with high spirits!! As a runner I experienced a totally new effect of running with such a large group of people. With this communal energy and my competitive spirit I was able to set a new personal record of 43.2 minutes for the 8km which I wouldn’t have been able to push towards without the team!
As our captains would say, “it is about the run, but it is not about the run”! I definitely learned a lot during the process of the run and am incredibly grateful.
I can’t wait for next year.
